Carmen, CebuFestival Date: January 22, 2023 Sinulog sa Carmen is held every fourth Sunday of January and is a spectacle of graceful dances, extravagant costumes, and passionate crowds. It draws its origins from as far back as the landing of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi on the shores of Luyang in Carmen town. In 1974, Carmen’s parish priest, Fr. Jose Motos, a native of Kalibo in Aklan, convinced local leaders to recreate the famous Ati-Atihan Festival.
