Mandaue is a highly urbanized city in Metro Cebu that can be found between Cebu City and the Mactan Channel. It’s one of the country’s most industrialized areas, and it is home to furniture manufacturers, food processing plants, and export companies that have operated for decades. So, you’ll see a lot of factories and warehouses.

But between all these industrial buildings, you’ll find a ton of lechon places that rank among the best in the Visayas, fiestas that shut down entire roads, and a local culture that takes so much pride in being a working city.

Mandaue City Hall

This building is worth a quick visit if you’re into local architecture or want to see the center of civic life here. The building itself is straightforward, but the surrounding area gives you a feel for old Mandaue. There’s a nearby church, the plaza, and some vendors.

During fiesta season, this whole zone comes alive with parades, street dancing, and food stalls everywhere. Time your trip right and you’ll land in the middle of it, like in April!

Marcelo Fernan Bridge

The second bridge connecting Mactan Island to mainland Cebu, and honestly one of the best free views you can get in the metro. Walk or drive across around golden hour and you’ll see the Mactan Channel, fishing boats below, and the city skyline stretching out behind you.

It’s just a quick stop, but a good one, especially if you’re already headed to or from the airport.

A.S. Fortuna Street

This is where you’ll find the heart of Mandaue’s foodie spots and nightlife. Korean barbecue joints, ramen houses, local carinderias, milk tea shops, they’re all lined up one after another.

On weekends, the street fills with groups hopping between restaurants and cafés until late. If you’re the type who picks a city based on where you’ll eat best, start here and just walk. You won’t run out of options.

J Centre Mall

This is a mid-sized mall along A.S. Fortuna Street. It being mid-sized is actually a plus: you won’t lose three hours just navigating floors. Grab lunch, catch a movie, pick up some pasalubong, and you’re back out!
