Salubong (Holy Cross Festival)

Towns of Alitagtag and Bauan, BatangasFestival Date: May 02, 2023 The towns of Bauan and Alitagtag have a Holy Cross, which both originated from a single cross crafted from ‘anubing’ wood measuring approximately eight feet in height with a meter-long crosspiece. Every May 2, the Magkapatid na Krus (sibling crosses), are brought together in procession aboard open floats in Alitagtag. At the shrine, the two crosses are positioned side by side and led toward the altar for Mass.
