Since the Talaandig tribe discovered that soil can be a powerful medium for art, Salima Saway transformed this raw material into colors on canvas that portrayed amazing stories of her tribe and conveyed messages of the urgent and important messages of nature. She is, to date, one of the most recognized soil painters and artists in the country. Her home is also her workshop and gallery where some of her paintings are on display. A visit is indeed like immersing in the life and culture of her tribe and communing with Mother Nature.
