Jose Rizal Boulevard

The Jose Rizal Boulevard simply known as ”The Boulevard” is Dumaguete City’s show window located in the Port Area. It is the very first thing that visitors see upon arrival at the airport. It was named after the Philippine national hero–Jose Rizal, who reportedly visited the area briefly and took a stroll there before departing to the island of Dapitan where he was exiled by Spanish authorities on suspicion that he was about to lead a revolution.
