Bonok-Bonok Maradjaw Karadjaw Festival

Surigao CityFestival Date: September 09, 2024 This annual festival held every September 9 or 10 honors the province’s patron saint, San Nicolas de Tolentino, and gives thanks to the Mamanwa people’s gods. Named after ‘bonok,’ which translates to rain or heavy downpour, and ‘bonok-bonok,’ which means the ‘continuous pouring of blessings,’ the celebration features a ritual dance from the Mamanwa, who are the early inhabitants of Surigao City.
