The historically rich Holy Week celebration of Bantayan Island is among the most elaborate in the country—using life size statues during the Holy Thursday and Good Friday processions. Bantayanons also enjoy a rare Holy Week privilege of Catholic Church exemption from fasting from a 200 year old Papal Bull edict.
