Built in the mid-1800s, the structure is a Spanish-era rectory that was formerly used by priests of the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral until the 1980s. It is a fine example of ‘arquitectura mestiza,’ a hybrid type of construction that makes use of coral stone, timber, and clay roof tiles.
