Agawan sa Sariaya (San Isidro Festival)

Sariaya, QuezonFestival Date: May 15, 2023 Sariaya town in Quezon holds the Agawan Festival to express gratitude to San Isidro Labrador for a bountiful harvest. Residents creatively decorate their houses along the procession route with fresh farm produce and other items. Tall bamboo trees adorned with treats line the streets, creating a picturesque canopy. Come afternoon, people eagerly await the patron saint of farmers, which then signals everyone to grab (‘agaw’) whatever they can reach. Decorations are joyfully shared with the crowd in the spirit of giving, called a ‘happy pandemonium.’
