A historical journey through timeLOVE THE HISTORYMalaybalay City sits atop a heart shaped plateau located in the heart of Bukidnon, a highland which also happens to be the heart of Mindanao. It is no wonder that, no matter how cold the temperature gets in Malaybalay, the people remain warm and loving.
Malaybalay, known as the City in the Forest, is the capital of the Province of Bukidnon and is located 622 meters above sea level. The city varies in land forms. It is characterized by its rolling hills and plains, snaking rivers and creeks, and deep canyons and valleys.
It is the home of the Monastery of the Transfiguration where a community of Benedictine Monks live a contemplative life in their quest for God. The church is a pilgrim destination for the devotees of our Lady of Montserrat whose image, an exact replica of the original in Montserrat, Barcelona, is enshrined there. It is also where the Monks’ Blend Premium Coffee is produced. Made from high-quality Robusta and Arabica coffee beans, this is coffee at its finest. Guests get to enjoy a brew of Monks’ Blend during the monthly breakfast with the monks, held every second Sunday after the 8:00 AM mass. Visitors can partake of a sumptuous breakfast al fresco. This is the monks’ way of meeting the people who attended the mass.
