The ‘Pagana’ is a traditional feast described as the Maranaos way of welcoming guests and celebrating occasions, such as Eid-al Adha, Eid-al Fitr, weddings, enthronements, graduations, or the homecoming of people who went to Hajj. This feast is marked by the ‘dulang’ dining set, which presents halal food on ‘tabak,’ or brass food trays. Aside from a grand selection of native cuisine, traditional music and dances, such as kapamalong-malong, are also presented to symbolize the hosts warm hospitality. The dance shows the different ways of how one can wear a ‘malong,’ or a traditional skirt.
