Mount Guiting-Guiting’s name translates to ‘jagged’ in Romblomanon, which describes the jagged peak of the mountain. Guiting-Guiting stretches to the heart of Sibuyan Island and is considered a biodiversity haven by local and international scientists. With an elevation of 2,058 meters above sea level, the mountain is a famous site for hikers year-round. Although the length and duration of the climb can be shorter compared to other mountains in the country, Guiting-Guiting’s trails are made up of exposed, broken, and sharp rocks and boulders, making the mountain a very difficult climb for hikers.
