Bird-watching in Apayao

Birding enthusiasts will surely enjoy a visit to Apayao. The province boasts many forested towns where many species of birds, both endemic and migratory, can be found. Calanasan town, for one, is the only place in the country outside of Mindanao where one can catch a glimpse of the Philippine eagle in the wild. Pudtol, Santa Marcela, and Luna towns are also birding hot spots that shouldn’t be missed.
